Design Elements: Remodel the interior stairwell with a touch of modern flair.
The stairwell, the part of the house overly used and underappreciated, can and in this case has so much to offer-yet so drab. A stair transformation is what needs to bring this part of the home to modern times. A new staircase was custom designed detailed and fabricated by the team of Synthesis from wood and aluminum.
Clean crisp lines convey simple and elegant modern design cues. The openness of the aluminum handrails allows for the skylight above to filter ambient light all the way down 3 stories. The once clunky stair has transformed to a hip focal point.
To add a dash bit design flair the structural beam was redressed with a new custom aluminum jacket-a departure from that boring drywall covering. Now the owners have brought this remodel to the 21st century!
